Open Auditions For 'Deathtrap' Being Held In Montville

The Barn Theatre in Montville, New Jersey continues its 89th Season by holding open auditions on July 17th & 19th for its upcoming production of "Deathtrap", written by Ira Levin. "Deathtrap" and will be directed by Todd Mills.

AUDITION DATES: Sunday July 17th 7pm to 10 pm, Tuesday July 19th 7pm to 10 pm

Call back & read thru Wednesday July 20th 7 pm to 10 pm

PERFORMANCE DATES: September 9, 16, 17, 23, 24, 30 & October 1 at 8pm and September 10, 11, 18, 25 at 2 pm (Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays).

SHOW DESCRIPTION:

Sidney Bruhl, a Broadway thriller author, is in a “dry” spell when he receives a script from a student. His plan, which he devises with his wife’s help, is to offer collaboration to the student. Thereafter, suspense mounts steadily as the plot begins to twist and turn with devilish cleverness, thrills and laughter.

CAST REQUIREMENTS: (3 males, 2 females)

Sidney, Male,40-60, Polished, devious, and thinks himself smart. Must perform believable fight scene

Myra, Female, 30-60, Sweet, caring, emotional and nervous. Must be able to help carry body.

Clifford, Male, 25–35, College type, Smart, good looking and physically fit. Requires fight scene.

Helga, 25-60, Wild individual. Knows she is a celebrity

Porter, 30-70, Professional suit and tie type.

Actors are asked to arrive to sign in within the first hour of the audition start time. All roles are available. Casting is open, and newcomers are especially welcomed. Crew and other volunteers are also needed for the event. If interested, please contact info@barntheatre.org .
