Montville Rising To Host Township Committee Candidates Forum Oct. 21 (patch.com) — Montville residents are invited to a Township Committee candidates forum and meet-and-greet hosted by Montville Rising on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at the Senior House on Main Road. Attendees can hear from four candidates, submit questions in advance, and watch via YouTube if they cannot attend in person, as organizers aim to foster respectful, informed discussion about Montville's future.
   

2. Helicopter Mosquito Treatment Planned Over Montville Wednesday, Thursday (patch.com) — Helicopter crews will be flying low over Montville as Morris County conducts aerial larvicide spraying Wednesday and Thursday mornings to curb high mosquito populations in local standing water. Officials say the treatment targets larvae using an approved insecticide and will cover Montville and several neighboring towns starting at 7 a.m. each day.
   

3. Montville Introduces Decibel-Based Noise Standards and Outlines Open Space Spending (tapinto.net) — Montville officials are moving to adopt strict decibel-based noise limits and redirect open space funds toward trail maintenance and new signage, with public hearings set for September 22. The Township Committee also scheduled an October 13 sale of township land on Changebridge Road and heard residents' concerns about hazardous trees and overgrown roadside vegetation.
   

4. Manzo, Dvorscak Score as Morristown Field Hockey Edges Montville, 2-1 (tapinto.net) — Montville High's field hockey team grabbed an early 1–0 lead at Morristown before falling 2–1 in a tight nonconference matchup Wednesday. Goalie Dylan Kideckel made seven saves, while Sophia Billings, assisted by Lexi Dorenbush, provided Montville's lone goal in a game that stayed tied until the fourth quarter.
   

5. Motorcyclist dies after being hit by delivery truck (2822news.com) — A 71-year-old Montville resident, Albert Vanriper, has died from injuries suffered when a delivery box truck rear-ended his motorcycle in I-80 construction traffic in Stroud Township, Pennsylvania. State police say the August 25 crash left him critically hurt; he passed away a week later after being flown to a hospital.
