, a band headed by Montville resident Ed Alstrom, entertained residents Thursday night with R&B covers from the 1950s and 1960s in the group's township debut.
The performance was the sixth concert in the township's summer concert series at the Montville Community Amphitheater.
With Dave Keyes on piano, Mark Berger on bass, Frank Pagano on drums and Alstrom on guitar, the band performed vocal harmonies and pieces similar to The Contours, The Five Royales, Andre Williams and Chris Kenner.

Alstrom said the show was geared toward people who like rockin' rhythm and blues and who like to hear "new old" songs that are lyrically clever and groovy.
Next week's concert will feature The Kootz and Glenn Taylor from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the amphitheater.
