Photos: Lightning Halts Montville's Soccer Storm
Game stopped in second half due to weather with Mustangs leading by five goals.
With a 6-1 lead at the half, including four goals from senior J.P. Correa, the Montville Township High School boys soccer team looked poised to win handily against an outmatched Vernon Township High School team on Monday.
However, due to lightning caused by what the Nation Weather Service classified as a "sever thunderstorm," officials were forced to postpone the game, delaying a possible Montville victory for now. According to league rules, the teams will have to make up the second half before the game can be official.
