Kevin Meany preforms Thursday, July 29.

Renowned comedian Kevin Meany will perform at 8 p.m. on Thursday at Tiffany's Restaurant in Pine Brook.

Meany will perform for one night only as part of the "Catch a Rising Star" tour. John Goldberg, a bartender for Tiffany's Restaurant, said the whole staff is very excited to have Meany appear at their restaurant.

"He's a big play in these surrounding towns," Goldberg said. "We've had a lot of call and inquiries about the event. It's been great for business."

Meany, 54, is well known for his many appearances on several notable outlets. These include The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, Saturday Night Live, The Late Show with David Letterman, Regis, Oprah and Late Night With Conan O'Brien. The New York native started out doing standup comedy before reaching higher levels of fame.

"[Kevin Meany] has a really big following in the tri-state area," Goldberg said. "Most people who see his picture recognize him from his history, so I think he was a popular person to bring to Tiffany's."

Meany starred in the television show Uncle Buck that ran on CBS for one season. Other notable achievements including appearing in the movie Big, wrote and produced an autobiographical play (entitled "Wedding Vows in Vegas") and even has his own Christmas special, The Kevin Meany Christmas Show.

Fans must be 16 or older to watch the show and there is a two drink minimum after entering. Fans who attend the show should expect to see much of Meany's material based on his family relationships, as has been his tendency throughout his career. Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased online at this website.

Goldberg expects the show to be a big success for everyone.

"We're looking forward to it," he said. "I hope everyone enjoys themselves, that it helps the comic and the restaurant. I just hope everyone is happy in general."
