14 Moorestown Friends Students Named To Language Honors Societies

MOORESTOWN, NJ — Fourteen Moorestown Friends School students were inducted into world language honor societies at a dinner and ceremony at the school on May 16, the school announced.

The National Chinese Honor Society was established in November 1993 to recognize accomplished high school students who study Chinese as a world language. The National Chinese Honor Society is a scholastic organization that promotes and recognizes students with good citizenship, leadership, and deeds of community service.

The following juniors were inducted into the National Chinese Honor Society:

• Kendall Connolly (Moorestown);
• Lizzie Huettl (Moorestown);
• Serena Lin (Moorestown);
• Maddie Mininno (Moorestown);
• Liam Schenk (Moorestown);
• Italia Vitella (Burlington); and
• Blake Wiener (Voorhees).

The Société Honoraire de Français of the American Association of Teachers of French aims to stimulate interest in the study of French, to promote high standards of scholarship, to reward scholastic achievements, to create enthusiasm for and an understanding of francophone culture, to promote and perpetuate international friendship, and to reward efforts toward furthering solidarity in the French-speaking world. The Moorestown Friends School chapter of the honor society has been in existence since 1989.

The following juniors were inducted into the National French Honor Society (Société Honoraire de Français):

• Lizzie Cohen (Moorestown);
• Tanay Parnaik (Moorestown); and
• Katie Paw (Shamong).

The Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica is an honor society for high school students enrolled in Spanish and Portuguese and is sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese. The Moorestown Friends School chapter of the honor society has been in existence since 1989.

The following juniors were inducted into the National Spanish Honor Society (Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica):

• Chigozie Chukwunyere (Pennsauken);
• Mariana Goldlust (Cherry Hill);
• Sonia Patel(Moorestown); and
• Lauren Radack (Delran).
