16 Inducted Into Moorestown Friends School Honors Societies

MOORESTOWN, NJ — Sixteen Moorestown Friends School students were inducted into the Chinese, French, and Spanish National Honor Societies on May 15, the school announced. Families, teachers, and staff members joined the students for a formal banquet and ceremony in the Dining Hall Commons.

Inducted into the National Chinese Honor Society were juniors Bailey Butterworth, Charles Tanas, Alexander Boller, and Jackson Fox. The National Chinese Honor Society was established in November 1993 to recognize those accomplished high school students who study Chinese as a world language. The National Chinese Honor Society is a scholastic organization that promotes and recognizes students with good citizenship, leadership, and deeds of community service.

Inducted into the National French Honor Society (Société Honoraire de Français) were juniors Shelby Deibler, Hannah Jin, Esha Nittoor, Elizabeth Carter, Joshua Reid, and Aaron Clark. The Société Honoraire de Français of the American Association of Teachers of French aims to stimulate interest in the study of French, to promote high standards of scholarship, to reward scholastic achievements, to create enthusiasm for and an understanding of francophone culture, to promote and perpetuate international friendship, and to reward efforts toward furthering solidarity in the French-speaking world. The Moorestown Friends School chapter of the honor society has been in existence since 1989.

Inducted into the National Spanish Honor Society (Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica) were juniors Katia Hehn, Jasmine Phillips, Franyeli Peralta, Jalen Patel, Joaquin Estevez, and Renna Mohsen-Breen. The Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica is an honor society for high school students enrolled in Spanish and Portuguese and is sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese. The Moorestown Friends School chapter of the honor society has been in existence since 1989.
