2 Bond Ordinances To Be Introduced At Moorestown Council Meeting

Moorestown Council will meet on Monday, Aug. 6, 7:30 p.m.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — Moorestown Council will consider a pair of bond ordinances when it meets Monday night. Council will meet on Monday night, Aug. 6, 7:30 p.m. at town hall, 111 West Second Street.

Once again, the workshop session usually scheduled for 7 p.m. is canceled in favor of a closed session in which council will discuss affordable housing and the status of the township manager position.

The first bond ordinance calls for council to appropriate $1,050,000, including borrowing $997,500 in bonds or notes to be used for the extension of the township’s fiber optic network to all the township’s water and waste water treatment facilities.

The second bond ordinance calls for council to appropriate $975,000, including borrowing $926,250 in bonds or notes to be used for the installation of sports lighting at Memorial Field.

Council will also consider a pair of proposed ordinances on second reading. The first would vacate a portion of Glen Avenue. The other calls on the township to accept a grant of easement for a 20' wide sanitary sewer easement in favor of the township at 1490 Glen Avenue.
