3 New Stores To Take Place Of Macy's At The Moorestown Mall

Two of them will be new to South Jersey, including one that will be the first of its kind in the country, according to published reports.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — Three new businesses are coming to Moorestown. Macy’s at the Moorestown Mall will make way for three brand new businesses, according to published reports. Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust (PREIT) will buy the former retail store and turn the space into a spot for three stores.

One of the stores will be an unnamed food market, according to the Courier Post. The other two will be businesses that are new to South Jersey, including one that will be the first of its kind in the country.

The plan is part of the Moorestown Mall’s parent company’s strategy to replace spaces left vacant by retail stores with tenants that attract more business, like food and entertainment, according to the Burlington County Times.

One example of this is at the Plymouth Meeting Mall, where a Macy’s that recently closed was replaced by the region’s first Legoland Discovery Center, according to philly.com.

Earlier this year, Macy’s announced it was closing 68 stores nationwide, including the store at the Moorestown Mall.
