Teen Shoots Gun From Car In South Jersey, Prosecutor Says

He was charged with attempted murder.

WILLINGBORO, NJ — A 16-year-old boy shot a gun from a moving vehicle and tried to hit a person in front of a home, the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office said.

The teen was charged was charged with first-degree attempted murder and a number of weapons crimes.

On July 25, a resident at a home along Garland Lane in the Garfield Park area alerted police that someone shot multiple times from a moving car towards a family member in the front yard.

The home was hit but nobody was injured, according to authorities.

"To those who think they can shoot up a neighborhood in the middle of the day and won't be caught and prosecuted-you need to think again," said Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw.

The boy was taken into custody at his home in Willingboro on Friday after a search warrant was carried out. A gun and ammunition were also confiscated.

He was taken to the Middlesex County juvenile detention center to await a hearing in Superior Court.
