MOORESTOWN, NJ — Arbor Day, the last Friday in April, is a day to celebrate the many benefits of trees by planting a tree. This year’s Arbor Day celebration took take place on Friday, April 27, at the Upper Elementary School. Today's rain drove the event inside, but the children's faces provided the sunshine! The four trees will be planted as weather permits.
The Upper Elementary children participated by making bird feeders, painting rocks and singing two songs. Tree seedlings from the New Jersey Tree Recovery Campaign were distributed to the public and will be available at the Moorestown Library. This event is sponsored by the Moorestown Township Tree Planting and Preservation Committee, the Moorestown Garden Club and Moorestown Township Public Works.
