Burlington County Parks To Reopen With Restrictions Saturday

Parks had been closed since the middle of April amid the outbreak of new coronavirus.

BURLINGTON COUNTY, NJ — All county-operated parks will reopen with restrictions Saturday following Gov. Phil Murphy's announcement that all state parks and golf courses will be permitted to reopen, Burlington County officials announced.

"Residents utilizing our parks for passive recreation will be required to wear masks and adhere to social distancing rules,” Burlington County Health Officer and Chair of the Burlington County Coronavirus Task Force Dr. Herb Conaway said. “Park rangers are authorized to enforce rules to ensure public safety. Park facilities, such as bathrooms, playgrounds and pavilions will remain closed. Though organized group activities are barred, walking trails and paths will again be open to the public.”

Conaway is reminding residents to remain vigilant and not throw caution to the wind, as “our path to a new normal will be marked by illness and death for some.”
