Classic Olga's Diner Name Returns In South Jersey
The familiar name has resurfaced on Route 73 as plans for an unrelated diner continue.

EVESHAM TOWNSHIP, NJ — In September, it was reported that plans were underway to bring back a South Jersey staple, even if the new diner had no connection to the previous one.
Now, plans to build the new Olga’s Diner appear to be well underway, with a new sign bearing the diner’s name popping up on Route 73.
The sign with the familiar name and script has appeared at the construction site less than a mile from the old diner. It is located on Route 73 at Baker Boulevard, between Sunoco and Chick-fil-A in Evesham Township.

Plans for the new diner were approved in the fall. At that time, owners Bill Dovas and Chris Kolovos calls for a "classic family style restaurant" that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and doesn't have a liquor license. They are paying homage to the old diner, but the two businesses are not related.

The original Olga's Diner was built in 1946, and stood in Marlton from 1946-2008. It was recently torn down to make way for a fertility clinic.
"I was so sad to see Olga's torn down," a member of the Remembering Olga's Diner Facebook group wrote. "We moved to Marlton from Philly in 1957. When we were coming home from a day at grandmom Huey's or another relative's, and we were driving around the Marlton circle, seeing Olga's meant that we were home. My mom, Zora was a hostess there in the 1960s and met my stepfather, Tom Nolan there, and they fell in love. My mom passed 2 years ago, so I was extra sad to see Olga's go."
