County Offers Help for Job Seekers, Employers
Burlington County's new website gives residents and local businesses alike the tools they need to succeed in today's economy.
Looking for employment or employees? Burlington County has a new tool to help with both.
The county launched its new “Business and Job Seekers Services” website last week, designed to help county residents and local businesses find employment, job training or hire qualified staff.
The new site, which can be accessed at www.co.burlington.nj.us/employment,
asks visitors to pick a path: either as a job seeker or as a business in search of employees. These two specific paths lead to valuable employment information.
Local businesses can learn how the county can help find and train qualified workers, review hard-to-fill positions, determine competitive salaries, and write effective job postings. This website will discuss how to avoid layoff situations and how to look for current financial incentives and grants.
It also has information on how businesses can obtain tax credits for new hires and how to receive training for new or current employees.
Job seekers also have a wealth of information in one place to help them with job searches, resume writing, job-training opportunities, changing careers, and unemployment insurance information. The county now has a “Hot Jobs” link that will highlight a few local positions each week.
The job seekers path also links to Jobs4Jersey.com, a jobs bank that pulls current employment opportunities from more than 2,400 job posting sites, making it easy for the job seeker to find what they are looking for in one convenient location.
"Not only does this website put unemployed Burlington County residents in touch with employers, but job seekers can also get information on the latest on topics such as resume writing and interview techniques. Businesses can benefit from training and hiring incentives and grants,” said Burlington County Freeholder Joseph Donnelly.
The Business and Job Seekers Services website will continue to be updated with new information and job opportunities. A calendar of events will include all upcoming training and workshop opportunities, as well as any scheduled job fairs.
“I encourage every employer who is looking for qualified workers to post their vacancies on the Hot Jobs section of the website,” Donnelly said.
