Discolored Water Possible During Hyrdant Flushing In Moorestown
Moorestown will flush fire hydrants for a few weeks in April. Water may be discolored at that time.
MOORESTOWN, NJ - The Moorestown Department of Public Works will flush fire hydrants the first few weeks of next month, officials announced. Flushing will take place between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. each day beginning the first week of April and lasting 2-3 weeks, according to officials.
It will take place late at night in order to impact the fewest residents possible, as flushing causes water discoloration and low water pressure. Discoloration is less likely if residents don’t use water during flushing, officials said. If there is some discoloration, it should clear up after running water briefly.
If it doesn't, residents should call Public Works at 856-235-3520 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. or call the Water Treatment Plant at 856-235-0550 on weekdays between 4 p.m. and 8 a.m. and on weekends.
