MoorArts also enlisted top graphic arts students from Mooretown High School to design the avant-garde costumes for the musical’s stunning “runway scene.”

A multi-talented cast from across South Jersey delivers a poignant and lively adaptation of the compelling story originally based on Verdi’s 1871 opera and electrifyingly reimagined by Elton John and Tim Rice.

Enslaved Nubian princess Aida (Alisha Kothari), finds her heart entangled with an Egyptian soldier (Jonah Levinson) who is betrothed to the Pharaoh's daughter (Roxanne Paul). As their forbidden love blossoms, Aida is forced to weigh her heart against the responsibility she faces as leader of her people. Their love story ultimately transcends the vast cultural differences between their warring nations, and continues to resonate in today’s world.

Proceeds from "AIDA," and all MoorArts events, support arts-based teacher grants and scholarships in Mooretown’s public schools.

MoorArts is a non-profit, all-volunteer arts advocacy organization supporting the fine and performing arts throughout the community year-round. To learn more about MoorArts, visit www.MoorArts.org.
