Memorial Day Ceremony

Program begins with a musical prelude by the Moorestown High School Band, which is directed by Christopher Norris. Members of Boy Scout Troop No. 44 will post the colors, followed by the National Anthem (Moorestown High School Band) and the Pledge of Allegiance, conducted by Cub Scout Pack No. 44. Director Jonathan Miller from the First Presbyterian Church will offer the invocation, followed by a welcome by councilmember and master of ceremonies Stacy Jordan.

Following the Second Baptist Church Choir’s interlude will be the day’s commemoration speaker, Chaplain Lt. Col. Christopher L. Miller ANG 108th Wing Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. Following the main speaker will be the annual roll call and remembrance by Judith Young and Sen. Diane Allen—the reading the of the names of those Moorestonians who have given the ultimate sacrifice, as representatives of the Moorestown Community Girl Scouts place a remembrance at the Memorial.

After the customary salute, provided by the William H. Snyder American Legion Post 42 and the playing of TAPS, the benediction will be given by Rev. James O’Neill.

Closing the ceremony will be renditions of My Country Tis of Thee and God Bless America.
