Former Miss NJ, Star Of Broadway Show From Moorestown Finalist For Live With Kelly Co-Host Contest

Dena Blizzard, the star of "One Funny Mother" is 1 of 10 finalists as of Wednesday, Oct. 12.

Moorestown, NJ -- A Moorestown woman is one of 10 finalists vying to be Kelly Ripa’s co-host for a day.

Dena Blizzard was one of 10 finalists still in contention to sit opposite Ripa for a day, according to the show’s official website.

In her video, Blizzard jokes that she would love to co-host the show because it would give her an excuse not to do the dishes and to take a shower for the day. She also mentions her son’s arm pits, and the fact that she’s looking for a co-host for her own Facebook live show that she does every Friday from her kitchen.

Blizzard was named Miss New Jersey in 1995, according to philly.com. She began her comedy career when she turned 30, beginning her stand-up in Runnemede, and expanding to Atlantic City, Philadelphia, New York City and Las Vegas. She is married with three children.

She is also the star of the off Broadway show “One Funny Mother.” The show’s tagline asks: Have you ever gone un-showered for days, fought with your husband over who works harder, or had a kid pee on you? Dena Blizzard’s hilarious new show “One Funny Mother” will make you realize you’re not crazy … motherhood is!

In reviewing her show, the Huffington Post wrote: Because Blizzard is so direct and extremely natural when going about her 60-minute-plus tirade, she's appealing throughout.

She has previous experience working on talk shows; she finished her script for “One Funny Mother” in 2008, but put the show on hold to take a job warming up audiences for a daytime talk show, according to the New York Times.

Now, she looks to take over the chair held by former New York Giant Michael Strahan for one day.

Strahan left the show in May after ABC announced he would be joining Good Morning America. The search for a permanent co-host continues.
