The announcement comes at a time when the governor is being criticized for frequent travel out of state in what appears to be preparation for a presidential bid.
According to a recent Rutgers-Eagleton poll, Hillary Clinton holds a 58 percent to 35 percent edge over Christie among likely New Jersey voters in the 2016 presidential election.
