MOORESTOWN, NJ — The new coronavirus outbreak in New Jersey and across the nation is having vast impacts in Moorestown, including the closure of schools and many businesses.
The township has now seen two deaths related to the coronavirus, after it was reported that a 93-year-old man died on Wednesday.
As of Thursday, 894 positive cases of new coronavirus had been reported in Burlington County, with 24 deaths and 69 residents cleared from quarantine. Moorestown has 52 cases, with two fatalities and nine cleared from quarantine. Statewide, there have been 47,437 and 1,504 deaths related to the coronavirus.

MOORESTOWN SURGEON RECOVERS FROM CORONAVIRUS; HELPS OTHERS
James Sanfilippo, an orthopedic surgeon from Moorestown, was shocked to learn he had coronavirus. After recovering, he launched an online fundraiser, and was hit with an even bigger surprise: the Haircuts for Covid-19 fundraiser has raised over $16,000.
FOOD ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE FOR MOORESTOWN RESIDENTS
The Moorestown Rotary COVID-19 committee is working together with Moorestown Parks & Recreation to help residents in need obtain groceries due to lack of transportation, health reasons, or financial difficulties. Requests will be kept confidential. All groceries will be left at the resident's door to keep everyone safe.

BURLINGTON COUNTY TO HOLD PRIMARY BALLOT DRAWING ONLINE
The legally required ballot drawing for this year's primary elections in Burlington County will be done via Facebook Live at 3 p.m. on Thursday. On Wednesday, Gov. Phil Murphy announced that the primary election for New Jersey has been moved to July 7. It had been scheduled for June 2. Burlington County Clerk Joanne Schwartz is encouraging all voters to apply to vote by mail in time for the Primary Election to avoid potential crowding at polling places on Election Day.
