Library Keeping Up with Technology

Did you know that free digital books or e-books are available to you with your card?

If you are new to this technology, an e-book is a digital edition of a book that can be read on your computer or on a variety of portable electronic devices such as e-book readers or smartphones.

Moorestown Library has joined with a number of other New Jersey libraries to offer our patrons access to free downloadable e-books and audio books through Overdrive. You can access these titles from home by going to the library webpage at www.moorestown.lib.nj.us. Just click on the button on the right side of the screen that reads “Free audio books and e-books.” 

You can browse fiction or nonfiction titles and check them out using your library card. The “Help!” feature on the left of the screen offers specific directions for the particular device you are using. There is a list of supported devices so you can see if your e-reader can use this service.  (Attention all Kindle users—Amazon will be making their e-books available on Overdrive starting this fall.) 

E-books offer one more way to enjoy reading from your library. And of course, we continue to offer access to traditional books and magazines if you choose to leave the electronics to the techies.
