Moorestown Council will meet on Monday, Feb. 25, 7 p.m. at town hall, 111 West Second Street. The workshop portion of the meeting has been canceled, and the regular action meeting will begin at 7 p.m.

Council was set to vote on the matter at the Feb. 11 meeting, but the proposal was tabled when Deputy Mayor Nicole Gillespie asked if the family of Silas Little had been consulted about the proposal.

Many people in town weren’t aware that the trail was named after Little, as many assumed the term “Little” in the name referred to the size of the trail. Read more here: Little Woods Renaming Put On Hold Amid Debate In Moorestown

The proposal calls for Rich, an open space advocate in Moorestown who has always shied away from the spotlight, to be added to the name of the trail.

A litany of former Moorestown mayors recently submitted a letter showing support for the renaming. Read more here: Former Moorestown Mayors Weigh In On Little Woods Renaming

It is the only proposal on the docket for a final vote. No proposed ordinances are scheduled for introduction. There are five items on the consent agenda, including one in which council will call on the judge presiding over the litigation involving Pennrose to render a decision.

The matter has been in the court for many months, but this resolution has no binding impact on the judge in the case. Read more here: Pennrose Affordable Housing Plan Remains In Limbo Amid Lawsuit
