Longtime Diner Closes Abruptly In Burlington County
Red Lion Diner — at the Red Lion Circle which intersects Routes 206 and 70 — operated for 50 years.

SOUTHAMPTON, NJ — Just a few days ago, the Red Lion Diner promoted daily specials from Manhattan clam chowder to blackened tilapia to the BBQ pulled pork melt. Then, the longtime community staple announced its permanent closure.
The Red Lion Diner of Southampton was sold and has shuttered after 50 years in business, ownership said Friday. The eatery will not reopen.
"We appreciate all the support and patronage throughout the years," ownership said on Facebook. "It was a difficult decision however we chose what was best for our families."

The diner offered full refunds for any outstanding gift cards. Email info@rldnj.com with your gift card number, name and address, and Red Lion Diner will send a check within five business days.
The restaurant first opened in 1973 and operated at the Red Lion Circle, which intersects Routes 206 and 70.
