Marlton Woman’s Club Honored with Proclamation From Burlington County Freeholders
BURLINGTON -- On February 28, a large contingent from the Marlton Woman’s Club was on hand to personally accept a Proclamation from the Burlington County Board of Chosen Freeholders honoring the Marlton civic organization for its “unwavering service to the community-at-large” and unparalleled enhancement of the quality of life within the Marlton community.

A non-profit volunteer service organization, the Marlton Woman’s Club was honored for “advancing the welfare of the community and promoting the progress and work of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs through the education, civic and charitable interests of its members.” The club, organized in 1963 and federated in 1964, has more than 40 members and has been a fixture in the local community for over five decades.
Among its noted projects were Boatsie’s Boxes Christmas stockings for troops, annual scholarships for a graduating senior woman at Cherokee High School, work with Literacy Volunteers of Burlington County, Relay for Life and a recent club-wide effort to stock the shelves of the Cherokee Food Pantry and help local needy families.
The Board of Chosen Freeholders commends and recognizes the remarkable service and dedication of the Marlton Woman’s Club and expresses its sincere appreciation for the organization’s positive impact on improving the quality of life for all Burlington County residents.
The GFWC Marlton Woman’s Club is a member of the NJSFWC and the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC). Self-described as a “a group of women who raise money and give it away,” the organization raised and donated $16,815 in 2016-17 in addition to providing $17,630 of in-kind donations to civic and philanthropic entities.
