Medicare Open Enrollment Workshops At RCBC Next Month
The events are for Medicare beneficiaries.

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of Burlington County will present two free events for New Jersey Medicare beneficiaries during open enrollment next month. The events are set for Monday, Nov. 13 and Friday, Nov. 17, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Rowan College at Burlington County’s Willingboro Campus, 200 Campbell Drive, in room 220. Appointments are required, and can be made by calling 856-222-9311, ext. 1494.
Medicare’s open enrollment period runs from Oct. 15 through Dec. 7. During open enrollment, people can review their Medicare options and make changes to their Medicare coverage. Changes made during the open enrollment period do not take effect until Jan. 1, 2018.
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of Burlington County oversees the State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) at Burlington County and is supported by Rowan College at Burlington County. “Medicare benefits and premiums could change for 2018. Even if you are confident in keeping your coverage for the coming year, it is important to confirm that your current plan is still the best available option,” Rowan College at Burlington County Vice President of Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning Anna Payanzo Cotton said. “SHIP is a great resource for the community. SHIP’s trained counselors can help answer Medicare questions and make the entire process easier.”
Anyone who cannot make either event can call 856-222-9311, ext. 1494 to set up a free appointment with a counselor. SHIP volunteers are trained in the areas of health insurance and benefits and offer counseling sessions free of charge.
