MFS Freshman To Compete In National History Competition
Kayla Patel has qualified for the National History Bee and National History Bowl.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — A freshman at Moorestown Friends School has qualified for national competitions in history, the school announced on Monday. Kayla Patel, of Mount Laurel, has qualified for the National History Bee and National History Bowl.
She competed in the South Jersey regional portions of the event at Donovan Catholic High School in Toms River on Feb. 17. She earned a silver medal in the History Bee and took third place in the History Bowl.
Both competitions are buzzer-based history quiz competitions where high school students attempt to be the first to ring in and answer paragraph-length questions about various topics in history.

Students who finish in the top half of the preliminary round totals qualify for the National History Bee and Bowl Championships, which take place the weekend of April 28-29 in Washington, D.C.
