Moorestown Boys Basketball Team To Compete For South Jersey Title

The Quakers will host Mainland in the South Jersey Group 3 championship game Tuesday night.

MOORESTOWN, NJ - The Moorestown High School boys basketball team will play for a South Jersey title Tuesday night. The top-seeded Quakers will host No. 3 Mainland in the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 3 championship game on Tuesday, March 5, 7 p.m., according to nj.com.

Moorestown advanced to the championship game with a52-43 win over No. 5 Timber Creekin the semifinals. Jagger Zrada lead the way with 23 points, including five three-pointers, in the win. Nick Cartwright-Atkins was next with 12 points.

In the quarterfinals, Moorestown defeated No. 9 Delsea, 71-48. Cartwright-Atkins lead the way in that one with 21 points, 13 rebounds, two assists, three steals and a blocked shot. Evan Francisco and Akhil Giri each had 14 points for Moorestown.

Moorestown opened the tournament with a 77-39 win over No. 16 Deptford. Zrada lead the way with 22 points, followed by Cartwright-Atkins with 12 and Logan Jagodzinski with 10 points.

Mainland defeated No. 14 Camden Tech, 68-45 in the first round; No. 11 Toms River East,72-60 in the quarterfinals; and No. 10 Seneca, 52-51, in the semifinals to advance to the final.
