Moorestown Company Closed After Roof Collapse During Storm

Transtar Moving Company remained closed on Friday following a partial roof collapse during Thursday night's storm.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — A commercial building in Moorestown remained closed Friday afternoon after a partial roof collapse during Thursday night’s storm, officials said.

The roof of Transtar Moving Systems on Lenola Road partially collapsed Thursday night, according to Fire Official Matthew Oresini. No one was in the building at the time of the collapse.

"We're having our engineers evaluate the building and see what needs to be done to get it reopened," Oresini said.

The collapse was the result of an excessive amount of water building up on the roof during a storm in which a tornado was confirmed to have touched down in Gloucester County, officials said.

“We’re fortunate that was the only thing that occurred,” Moorestown Police Chief Lee Lieber said.
