Moorestown Council To Discuss Events During COVID Pandemic Monday

MOORESTOWN, NJ — Moorestown Council will consider a resolution on Monday night that sets guidelines for holding events in the township amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The issue was first discussed during the Jan. 25 council meeting, when Moorestown Mayor Nicole Gillespie suggested the township take a “conditional approach.” Read more here: As COVID Pandemic Persists, Moorestown Considers Event Guidelines

“They should comply with whatever executive orders are in place at the time of the event,” Gillespie said. “We should see their plans about the number of participants and how they plan to control things such as social distancing and ensuring people are wearing masks. We should also keep in mind that we might have to revoke events if things get worse.”

It is one of 10 items on the consent agenda for Monday night’s meeting, which begins at 7 p.m. and will be held virtually.

Members of the public can participate in the meeting just the same as if at an in-person meeting. The mayor will open the floor for public participation in accordance with normal protocol.
