Moorestown Council Meetings to Broadcast Online, on TV

Moorestown Council voted to move forward with TelVue Solutions at its last meeting.

Moorestown, NJ -- Moorestown will pursue an agreement with TelVue Solutions to provide coverage of council meetings online and on TV, the Burlington County Times reports.

The company, based in Mount Laurel, will provide the township with the equipment needed to broadcast on the Lenape Regional channel on TV and online for $27,327.90. It would cost $5,118 a year to keep it going after that, for up to 10 years.

If funding is approved during the municipal budgeting process, meetings may begin to appear on TV or online in the summer, according to the report. The library will also provide programming for the channel.

The township has been considering a cable channel for a while, and was close to making a decision toward the end of last year when the idea of an on-demand/internet component was first introduced.

“There needs to be a video on demand component,” Deputy Mayor Victoria Napolitano said in November. “I don’t have cable.”

“I have cable, but my kids don’t watch it,” Councilwoman Stacey Jordan said.

At the time, the township had to decide whether it wanted to handle the network or hire Telvue Solutions. Council reached a consensus to hire Telvue at its last meeting, according to the report.

The channel is expected to be up and running by mid-summer.
