Moorestown To Extend Tax Payment Grace Period At Special Meeting
Moorestown Council will hold a special meeting Friday to vote on a resolution to extend the grace period for second quarter property taxes.
MOORESTOWN, NJ — Moorestown Council will hold a special meeting Friday in order to authorize a resolution that would extend the grace period for property taxes that were due May 1, officials announced.
Last week, Gov. Phil Murphy announced that municipalities would be permitted to extend the grace period for property tax payments due on May 1 to June 1. Taxes are still due May 1, but the grace period in which residents can pay their taxes without accruing interest or fees is extended from May 11 to June 1.
Such an extension would provide "much-needed relief to homeowners struggling financially as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic," he said. Read more here: Gov. Murphy: NJ Property Tax 'Grace Period' In Coronavirus Crisis
