Moorestown, MFS Boys Basketball Teams Set For Playoffs

The Moorestown High School boys basketball team is the top seed in the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 3 playoffs.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — The road to the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 3 boys basketball title goes through Moorestown. The Quakers are the No. 1 seed in the tournament, and will host No. 16 Deptford in the first round on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 7 p.m., according to nj.com.

The winner plays the winner of the game between No. 8 Lacey and No. 9 Delsea in the quarterfinals on Feb. 28. The semifinals will take place on March 2, with the championship game set for March 5.

Moorestown is 16-5 this season, and has scored at least 50 points in each win this season. In each of their five losses, the Quakers have been held to 49 points or fewer. Deptford has just eight wins against 12 losses this season.

Moorestown Friends will begin its quest for an NJSIAA South Jersey Non-Public B title the following night. Moorestown Friends is the No. 14 seed and will visit No. 3 Rutgers Prep in the first round on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 7 p.m., according to nj.com.

The winner plays the winner of the game between No. 6 Doane Academy and No. 11 Mater Dei in the quarterfinals on March 1. The semifinals will take place on March 4, with the championship game set for March 5.

Moorestown Friends is 7-11 this season. Rutgers Prep is 13-6.
