Moorestown School District Looks To Fill Board Vacancy

MOORESTOWN, NJ - The Moorestown Public School District is looking to fill a vacancy on its Board of Education. According to the post on the school district's website, the legal requirements are as follows. A board member must be:

• A citizen of the United States;
• A resident of Moorestown for at least one year;
• Able to read or write; and
• Registered to vote in Moorestown and not disqualified from voting pursuant to N.J.S.A. 19:4-1.

They are also not permitted to have any interest in any contract or claim against the Moorestown Board of Education. A criminal background check will be conducted, and whoever is appointed will not be able to hold office as a member of the governing body in Moorestown.

Those individuals interested in being considered for this vacancy must submit a resume and letter of interest to the Moorestown Township Board of Education at:

The resume and letter of interest must be delivered to the address above between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. They must be received by 4 p.m. on Monday, April 15.

Whoever is appointed will be seated immediately and will serve until January 2020. There will be a special election in November to fill the seat for the rest of the term. The appointee may run in that election, if interested.
