Moorestown In Top 30 Of NJ Monthly's School Rankings

Moorestown is among the best high schools in the state, according to rankings released by NJ Monthly on Friday.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — Moorestown High School is among the top 30 high schools in the state, according to rankings released by New Jersey Monthly on Friday. Moorestown ranked 22nd on this year’s list of New Jersey's 305 best high schools. It was also ranked 22nd last year.

The 2018-19 rankings were released on Friday, and the results were published by Patch with permission. (See the full list here.)

New Jersey Monthly also published information that shows: grade 12 enrollment; student-faculty ratio; number of AP subjects offered; percentages of 11th and 12th grade students taking AP courses; percentages of students scoring high on the SAT; and the graduation rates. The figures also include the percentages of students enrolled in college 16 months after high school.

Moorestown High School has 337 seniors and a student-faculty ratio of 11-1. It offers 28 AP subjects, and 77.1 percent of students take at least one AP course. Eighty percent of students score higher than 530 on the SAT, and 92 percent were at or above 480 on the reading and writing portion of the SAT. Moorestown’s graduation rate is 99.4 percent, and 88.9 percent of Moorestown High School students were enrolled in college 16 months after graduation.

To arrive at the rankings, New Jersey Monthly looked at the state Department of Education's most recent New Jersey School Performance Reports. Only public high schools were included in the rankings. (You can read more about the methodology here.)
