Moorestown Wrestler Captures District 26 Title

A total of four Moorestown wrestlers are moving on to the regional tournament.

MOORESTOWN, NJ - The Moorestown High School wrestling team is sending four wrestlers to the regional tournament. Teams from across New Jersey competed in district tournaments over the weekend, with the top three finishers from each weight class advancing to regions. The top three regional wrestlers advance to the state championship tournament in Atlantic City.

Moorestown finished fifth in the team standings with 89.5 points in District 26. Paulsboro won the team title with 280.5 points. At 195 pounds, Moorestown’s Robert Damerjian won the district title, defeating Paulsboro’s Anthony Morina, 10-3, in the final.

132: Ronald McCoy of Moorestown defeated John Toomey of Sterling by technical fall.
138: Thomas Blanch of Moorestown defeated Ryan Rhoads of Cherokee, 5-1.
182: John Dalmass of Moorestown defeated James Burt of Sterling, 5-2.
