Moorestown Wrestling Team Qualifies For Playoffs

Moorestown opens the tournament Monday night at Cherry Hill West.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — The Moorestown High School wrestling team faces an uphill road to the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 4 championship.

Moorestown is the No. 8 overall seed in the playoffs, according to nj.com. The Quakers will visit No. 1 Cherry Hill West in the first round of the playoffs on Monday night, Feb. 5. The winner faces the winner of the match between No. 4 Toms River East and No. 5 Pennsauken in the semifinals on Feb. 7.

Clearview is the No. 2 overall seed, and hosts No. 7 Shawnee in the first round on Monday night, Feb. 5. The winner faces the winner of the match between No. 3 Highland and No. 8 Hammonton in the semifinals on Feb. 7.

Cherry Hill West is 17-3 this season, including 16 straight wins to open the season. Moorestown is 5-12-1.

The championship match is scheduled for Feb. 9.
