New Moorestown Superintendent Visits Rotary Breakfast Club

Scott McCartney becomes superintendent effective July 1.

Moorestown, NJ -- New Moorestown Township Public School Superintendent Dr. Scott McCartney was recently the guest of the Moorestown Rotary Breakfast Club.

The Moorestown Board of Education named McCartney the new superintendent on May 2, and he takes office effective July 1.

He has a Bachelor of Arts, English degree, from Ursinus College; a Masters in Educational Administration from Rowan University; and Doctorate of Education (Ed.D.) from Seton Hall University.

"I am excited to partner together with Rotary and the Moorestown Community to serve our students,” McCartney said. “Both are doing great things and should be very proud.”

McCartney has served as the Superintendent of Egg Harbor Township, with grades pre-kindergarten through 12, serving 8,000 students since 2009. He has 15 years of experience as a superintendent.

He also has experience as a teacher, a Vice-Principal, a Principal and Assistant Superintendent.

McCartney currently serves as the Executive Director of the Egg Harbor Education Foundation.

“We look forward to many years of enhanced educational excellence with Dr. McCartney as our Superintendent,” Moorestown Board of Education President Kathy Goldberg said.
