Pei Wei Closes Moorestown Restaurant

The abrupt closing left Moorestown residents stunned and asking what happened.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — There's one less place to eat in the township. A popular Asian restaurant near the Moorestown Mall has closed its doors for good.

Pei Wei has abruptly closed its Moorestown location on the corner of Route 38 and Nixon Drive, the Courier Post reports. A sign on the door said the restaurant closed as of July 29, and directs customers to visit its nearby location in Cherry Hill.

The company told the newspaper the restaurant was closed after its lease expired. Moorestown residents were startled by the closing.

The first Pei Wei opened in 2000, offering authentic Asian-inspired food, according to the company’s website. It has over 200 locations. Following the closing of the Moorestown location, there are only two restaurants in the state, in Cherry Hill and Princeton.
