Undefeated Moorestown Football Team Climbs To No. 2 In Rankings

The latest rankings are in.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — At 3-0, the Moorestown High School football team is second to just one in the latest rankings that were released Monday morning.

A team earns six points for a win, plus between one and five points, depending on what group the team it defeated is in, and a residual point for each win that team has. A team’s first eight games count toward its final point total, but the lowest point total among these games is dropped, so seven total games count toward the final tally. The top eight teams in each group qualify for the playoffs at the end of the season.

Moorestown has been consistently in playoff position since the first rankings were released two weeks ago. The Quakers moved all the way up to No. 2 in NJSIAA South Jersey Group 4 following a 34-28 win over Highland on Friday. Below are this week's rankings, as posted on nj.com:
