What You Need to Know From Moorestown's Council Meeting
What did council vote on during Monday night's meeting?

On Monday night, Moorestown Council began the process to replace water mains throughout the township and approved two ordinances on introduction concerning the top of the police department’s command structure.
What else did council approve during Monday night’s meeting at town hall? There were a total of nine ordinances up for first reading. All were approved with a 4-0 vote. Councilwoman Stacey Jordan was absent.
Those proposed ordinances included:

- An ordinance setting aside $1,975,000 and borrowing $1,876,250 for the 2016 Roads Resurfacing Program;
- An ordinance setting aside $505,000 and borrowing $479,750 to be used for the reconstruction of Walnut Avenue and a portion of Third Street;
- A bond ordinance setting aside $530,000 and borrowing $503,500 to purchase public works vehicles and equipment;
- A bond ordinance setting aside $70,000 and borrowing $66,500 for installation of field lighting controls at Wesley Bishop Park and Pryor Park; and
- A bond ordinance setting aside $125,000 and borrowing $118,750 for various pavement repairs.
Seven items on the consent agenda were also approved with a 4-0 vote. They included:
- A Resolution Approving Salaries for Fire District No. 1 for the Period January 1, 2016 through December 31, 2016 2.
- Authorizing Contract Change Order No. 2 for 2014 Overlay Program 3.
- A Resolution Authorizing 2015 Budget Appropriation Transfers 4.
- A Resolution Authorizing the Transfer of $125,000 from the 2015 Current Budget Appropriation for Snow Removal to the Snow Removal Reserve Trust Fund 5.
- Authorizing Execution of Amendment No. 4 to Lease Agreement between M-C Church Realty LLC and the Township of Moorestown for Police Department Office Space Located at 1245 North Church Street 6.
- A Resolution Approving Salaries for Fire Dist. 2 for the Period January 1, 2016 through December 31, 2016 7.
- Rejecting All Bids for On-Site Third Party Review and Inspection Services for Building, Electric, Plumbing and Fire
