Workshop Supports Educators and Autistic Students

Garfield Park Academy Presents Workshop - 'Visual Supports & Environmental Planning for Students on the Autism Spectrum'

Willingboro, NJ – The Training Institute at Garfield Park Academy, a private school serving students with learning, social, and emotional disabilities, is hosting a free ½ day program for area educators, clinicians and service providers. The workshop, ‘Visual Supports & Environmental Planning for Students on the Autism Spectrum’, will be held on March 9th at the school’s Willingboro campus, 24 Glenolden Lane from 9:30am – 12:30pm.

Understanding that students on the autism spectrum have the ability to thrive when supported in the right environment, Garfield Park Academy has recruited Dr. Sarah Woldoff to help educators create a learning environment that supports autistic students. Dr. Woldoff, a licensed psychologist with over 20 years of experience working with children and adults who have social and emotional issues and learning disabilities, will present this informative workshop offering a wide range of effective behavior management strategies for addressing and resolving challenging behaviors. Attendees will leave knowing a collection of simple tools to reach students on the autism spectrum, knowledge about how to use schedules and time-planning aids in addition to other important topics.

This free workshop is offered as an outreach service to educators and support staff in and around southern New Jersey. 3 CEUs will be offered to attending professionals.
