2010 Census: Housing Vacancies Doubled in Morris Township

Homes, rental apartments stand empty in greater numbers.

According to data released Thursday by the U.S. Census Bureau, the number of unoccupied housing units in Morris Township more than doubled, from 182 in 2000 to 374 in 2010. This includes rental apartments, homes and properties used on a seasonal, recreational or occasional basis.

The total number of housing units in the township grew by 204, from 8,298 to 8,502, but the number of occupied units rose by just twelve, from 8,116 to 8,128.

  • 11 units rented but not occupied
