Bail Held at $250K for Alleged Morristown Hospital Armed Robber

Prior convictions enough for judge to hold amount on Tyhan Lighty, report says.

A slew of prior convictions that include robbery and drug offenses was enough for a Superior Court Judge in Morristown to keep bail at a quarter of a million dollars for a man alleged to have robbed a parking garage attendant at Morristown Medical Center last year.

Judge William McGovern, sitting in Morristown, kept bail at $250,000 for Tyhan Lighty, 43, of Orange, dailyrecord.com reported.

Lighty is accused of armed robbery and taking an undisclosed amount of money from a parking lot employee at Morristown Medical Center on May 18, 2014.

On May 4 of this year, charges were lodged against Lighty for robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and certain persons not to have weapons. He was jailed in lieu of $250,000 bail with no 10 percent option.

Lighty has been convicted 10 times for other offenses, has five different aliases, and multiple birthdates, dailyrecord.com reported.

Lighty was arrested on June 18 after a warrant was executed.
