Be a Part of the Excitement This Summer at Brightest Star!

Brightest Star School of Performing Arts promotes its exciting new one-week summer sleep-away performing arts camps!

Look what’s coming to New Jersey!

For the first time ever, Brightest Star School of Performing Arts will be running three one-week sleep-away performing arts camps! In just one week, Brightest Star will teach middle school and high school students the fundamental tenets of musical theatre and introduce them to the many joys of performance. Throughout the week, the students will take daily classes in singing, acting, and dancing, rehearse for a full-length show, and indulge in the many wonderful pleasures that the surrounding area holds. Each camp will conclude with a Broadway-titled musical theatre production, the culmination of this unique performing arts experience!

Brightest Star focuses on technique as the basis of training and then provides students with the opportunity to apply that technique in rehearsal and performance, while all the while keeping them in contact with the outside world of experiential learning. This program seeks to endow students with skills for life beyond solely a career in the performing arts. We believe the strategies used while learning the arts can be applied to everyday life. Improvisation helps us think on our feet. Rigorous practice aids us in understanding what is necessary to achieve the highest level of any goal. Memorization massages the brain and keeps us alert. Dance works our bodies, giving us exercise, spatial awareness, and coordination. All of this is done in an environment that nourishes creativity and personal accomplishment. Through this camp, Brightest Star hopes that the week of intensive training will nurture the students’ artistic souls, and that they learn to have confidence, take risks, and lead with joy in everything they do, on stage and off.

Our first sleep-away camp will be held July 12th through 17th at The Westminster Hotel in Livingston, NJ. Campers room in elegant quad rooms, eat master chef-prepared meals in the dining room, and enjoy chaperoned trips to local movies, shopping, or bowling, and daily swims in the indoor pool.
