County Road Paving Project in Morris Twp. Underway
Portion of West Hanover Avenue to be resurfaced until Aug. 12; two more county roads also being milled and paved.
County-maintained roadways are getting their fair share of resurfacing this week with completion dates set for early to mid-August.
Three roads, including West Hanover Avenue between Morris Township and Parsippany began this week. The 1.2-mile stretch of West Hanover Avenue is expected to be completed by Aug. 12, weather pending.
Milling and paving is being completed along West Hanover Avenue from Shongum Road in Morris Township to Ketch Road / Koch Avenue in Parsippany, which began on Monday, July 28.

The county doesn’t expect the need for any road closures during that time, but delays will occur during the project as work is completed from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
A 1.12-mile stretch of Green Pond Road in Rockaway Township is also being resurfaced between Lake End Road and Jacobs Road. The completion date for that project is expected to be Aug. 5.

Another 1.36-mile stretch of roadway is being milled and paved on West Main Street in Rockaway Borough, from Rt. 46 to Wall Street. That project is expected to wrap up on Aug. 7.
Morris County maintains 300 miles of roadways and committed to repaving approximately 33 miles this year. In 2013, the county repaved 22 miles of roadways while the annual average is just 17.
