The state's new law regarding Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying (HIB) has gone into effect. Every member of the school community -- from staff and volunteers to families and outside contractors -- will be affected.
- How is bullying defined?
- What must be reported, and when?
- How are school administrators required to handle allegations of bullying?
Board members, staff members, community members and families are urged to attend this must-see program. Mike Kaelber, Director of Legal and Policy Services at the New Jersey School Boards Association, will give an overview of the new law and Dr. Joseph Ricca, Superintendent of the East Hanover School District, will speak about practical issues of implementation. A question and answer session will follow the presentations.
Admission is free, but registration is required (see PDF attached). For more information, contact Christy Tighe at the NJ School Boards Association: ctighe@njsba.org
