Fairleigh Dickinson University's Visual and Performing Arts Departments Presents: LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS

A rock comedy, horror musical by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman

Based on the 1960’s cult classic film, LITTLE SHOP OF HORORRS, is a horror musical that will make you scream with laughter. The musical follows the life of Seymour Krelborn, a meek floral assistant at Mr. Muschnick’s flower shop on Skid Row, who purchases an exotic plant with a mysterious need for human flesh. As Seymour develops a crush on his beautiful coworker, Audrey, he also battles for control over his increasingly bloodthirsty plant, which he names Audrey II, after his crush. While the plant brings new opportunities to Seymour and the flower shop, it does not come without cost. The plant quickly grows beyond what Seymour imagined and turns into an evil, R&B singing, vulgar carnivore. Audrey II gives Seymour his 15 minutes of fame, but he soon realizes he bit off more than he could chew. Full of popular songs including “Skidrow (Downtown)”, “Suddenly Seymour”, and “Somewhere That’s Green”, this musical is guaranteed to excite new theatregoers as well as those who already consider the theatre their home.
