Fairleigh Dickinson University's Visual and Performing Arts Departments Presents: MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING

One of Shakespeare's best romantic comedies. October 15th-19th.

(MADSION, NJ- October 3, 2014)—Fairleigh Dickinson University students in the Visual and Performing Arts Department will be performing the Theatre Department’s next production, MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, one of William Shakespeare’s wittiest plays. The Department’s latest production will take place in the Dreyfuss Theatre located on Fairleigh Dickinson University College of Florham Campus. The opening performance will take place on October 15 at 8:00 p.m.

Written in 1598, MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING is considered one of Shakespeare’s best comedies, combining hearty hilarity with serious musing on shame and honor. MUCH ADO features Benedick, a confirmed young bachelor, and Beatrice, his favorite sparring partner. While they hide their infatuation beneath witty barbs, young love blossoms as Hero and Claudio race to the altar. When the evil Don John conspires to break up the match, will false accusations and misunderstandings prevent the young couple’s happy ending? With witty wordplay and clever plot twists, it is similar to other Shakespeare plays, MUCH ADO is a joyful comedy that ends with multiple marriages and no deaths.

Fairleigh Dickinson’s MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING production is directed by Stephen Hollis. Tickets are priced at $6 for students, FDU community and senior citizens and $12 for all others. Additional performance dates are as follows: October 16 at 8:00 p.m., October 17 at 8:00 p.m., October 18 at 8:00 p.m., October 19 at 2:30 p.m.
