Five Things You Need to Know in the New Year

During his address at the borough's reorganization meeting, Morris Plains Mayor Frank Dreutzler talked about what he said were some positives for the coming year.

1) Paving and drainage

The borough will continue to improve infrastructure including paving and drainage projects.

2) Downtown

Downtown beautification will continue with $200,000 in funding for more pavers.

3) Garden

The borough Community Garden was oversubscribed for 2011 and is considering expansion in 2012.

4) Approval

Seventy townhouses will be constructed on the edge of the borough.

5) Business

A new Chase Bank is coming to the borough.
