Ginty Park Summer Concerts Announced
The Kootz open six-performance series in Morris Township.

The sounds of summer music will once again emanate from the Ginty Park gazebo in Morris Township this year. William D. Foelsch, Director of Parks & Recreation, has just released the 2011 concert line-up:
The Township of Morris Department of Parks and Recreation is pleased to present its 2011 Summer Concert Series. The musical performances are free, and we invite residents of the greater Morris County area to join us for evenings of superb music. Bring blankets or lawn chairs to enjoy the music at the beautiful Ginty Field Gazebo on Woodland Avenue in Morris Township.
- The Concert Series kicks off on Tuesday, June 28th, at 7:00 p.m. with an all-time crowd favorite – The Kootz Band. Defining their performances as “Rock N’ Roll with Fiber”, the Kootz are known for their “feel good” music. Derived from classic rock, pop, soul, and blues, audiences from everywhere love their variety of music and are sold by their humor and charm.
- On Tuesday, July 5th the Township of Morris is extremely pleased to present a free performance by the United States Army Field Band and Soldiers’ Chorus. The premier touring musical representatives of the United States Army, the Field Band travels thousands of miles each year keeping the will of the American people behind the members of our armed forces. These “Musical Ambassadors of the Army” will present a powerful and diverse program of marches, overtures, popular music, and patriotic selections. Arrive early as we expect a big crowd.
- Tuesday, July 12th brings in some local talent for a rare outdoor performance. The Morristown-based Blaire Reinhart Band will make their fourth Morris Township appearance. Blaire Reinhard, originally from Morristown, New Jersey is a versatile singer-songwriter whose music has been featured on MTV, HBO, and all the major TV networks. In 2006, she formed The Blaire Reinhard Band with her brother Gray Reinhard (keys/guitar/ukelele), her husband Wade Perrin (bass/harmonica), and Keith Woodward (drums). With their saucy concoction of blues, folk, and rock, they've worked alongside national acts such as Alicia Keys and Nick Lachey. This is a great opportunity to see and hear one of New Jersey’s most talented bands.
- Morris County’s own Hanover Wind Symphony will perform on Tuesday, July 19th at 7:00 pm. The Symphony is a unique extension of the great American tradition of community music performance and is an entirely volunteer non-profit organization with a mission to bring “Music to People and People to Music”. The band is made up of woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments exclusively and it is completing its 27th annual concert season.
- On Tuesday, July 26th at 7:00 pm we will be featuring a first performance visit to our concert stage by Rave-On. Exemplifying the energy of the great Buddy Holly, Rave-On will bring you back to the early days of Rock’n Roll and the pounding rhythms of an American musical original.
- To conclude our 2011 Concert Season, we turn the page to a beautiful August evening with one of New Jersey’s great country-western bands performing contemporary and classic county hits. On August 2nd at 7:00 pm the New Jersey based Due South Band will visit the Ginty Gazebo stage for an evening of foot-stomping fun and sing those heartbreaking country ballads.
Morris Township is proud to have the support of The Provident Bank as our 2011 season Gold Sponsor. This will be the sixth year that The Provident Bank has generously assisted this important community musical performance series. Local business sponsorships of our 2011 Summer Concert Series are still available.
